A simple strategy: just do it. Together with Hind and CM president Luc Van Gorp, we travelled across Flanders and Brussels, leaving the diary in unexpected places: bus stops, libraries, park benches. Anywhere young people and politicians might encounter it. In Brussels, the diary even sparked direct conversations with policymakers. Medialife followed the action with cameras in hand, capturing spontaneous encounters and the urgency behind the message. The aftermovies gave the issue a face.
CM – The Not-So-Secret Diary

PLAY
Mental healthcare waiting lists? Far too long. For CM, simply unacceptable. Together with LDV United and poet Hind Eljadid, they launched The Not-So-Secret Diary: Amal’s story, built from real diary fragments of young people with real worries. 8,000 copies were spread across Flanders and Brussels with one clear mission: wake up young people, the public and policymakers. Mental wellbeing must become a top priority for the next governments.

Our approach
Our impact
With Medialife behind the lens, the campaign felt authentic and human. From youngsters on the street to politicians in the corridors of power, everyone received a piece of The Not-So-Secret Diary. The video content inspired internally at CM, raised awareness externally and made the urgency tangible. The result? A campaign that doesn’t just address the problem, but firmly puts youth mental wellbeing on the agenda.
