How do you explain immunotherapy to children? Not with medical terms or heavy explanations, but with imagination, colour and a bit of heroism.

Our approach

Jessa Hospital asked us to help translate complex information about the side effects of immunotherapy into a story children could understand. We chose an abstract, colourful visual style on purpose. Instead of showing recognisable medical situations, we worked with illustrations that explain through shape, symbolism and atmosphere. Keeping things safe, gentle and child-friendly.

We created a fantasy world where brave knights face the illness head-on. This metaphor allowed us to talk about possible symptoms in a way that feels understandable and non-threatening. At the heart of the story sits one clear message: it’s always okay to talk about how you feel. The result is a warm, playful narrative that informs without overwhelming.

Our impact

By choosing symbolism, colour and familiar hero figures, heavy information becomes easier to process for young viewers. The subject feels less frightening and more manageable. The video offers children something to hold on to at a moment when their world can feel upside down. And it supports parents and caregivers in starting open, honest conversations about illness and treatment.

Each year, around 72,000 adults in Belgium receive a cancer diagnosis. Sadly, many children are confronted with this reality too. With this project, we help some of them better understand what’s happening and how to cope with it.
